Vol. 9 No. 26

COMMITTEE ON FINANCE. SUPPLEMENTARY ESTIMATES. - MIGRATION OF RETIRED TEACHERS.

Motion by Deputy Sir James Craig:
To move for a return showing the number of retired teachers who have migrated from Saorstát Eireann to Northern Ireland, the schools where they last served, the pensions they were allotted when they retired, the increases they received under the Pensions (Increases) Act, 1920, and the further increases which they would have received had they continued to reside in Saorstát Eireann, under the Superannuation and Pensions Act, 1923.

With reference to my motion on the Order Paper, perhaps the Minister for Finance could deal with it now. I do not press the matter if there is any objection.

The return will not cause any great trouble. I do not really know what the object is in asking for it, but I have no objection to supplying it, as there is a very small number of such persons and the labour involved will be small.

Return ordered to be made.
