There is no power to grant a loan under the provisions of Section 1 of the Trade Loans (Guarantee) Act. Under the provisions of Section 2 of that Act, 27 applications for loans or for guarantees have been received in my Department. The Advisory Committee has not recommended any applications for a loan as distinct from a guarantee.
