Vol. 11 No. 13

COMMITTEE ON FINANCE. - DÁIL RESUMES.

Progress reported.

I am not in a position to say whether the Minister for Local Government is ready to take his Estimate to-morrow.

Would the Minister say when the Education Estimates are coming on?

I shall not be in a position to say that until this day fortnight at least.

Does that mean that the Minister for Education will not be in the House for a fortnight?

I am sure he will not be here for a fortnight.

Can the President say who will deal with matters arising out of the Education policy?

I hope to be in a position to answer any simple questions put to me in that connection during the fortnight.

Will the Minister say when will Estimate 50 be taken, that is the Land Commission?

It is likely that it will be taken next week.

Agreed—That Estimates Nos. 1 to 9 be taken next day.

It would suit us better if the Votes for the Land Commission and Department of Lands and Agriculture were taken next week.

What about the Estimate for Industry and Commerce?

I would ask that that be postponed until next week.

That will certainly not be taken until next week. The Minister has been—I think it will be admitted—rather busy for some weeks on the Shannon scheme, and it is only reasonable he should get a little respite in connection with his Estimates.

I move that the Dáil adjourn until 3 o'clock to-morrow.

The Dáil adjourned at 9.25 p.m. until Thursday, May 14th, at 3 p.m.
