Vol. 11 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF A KERRY ESTATE.

SEAMUS O CRUADHLAOICH

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state why, in the estate of the Knight of Kerry, Valencia Island, the Land Commission did not acquire the lands of Mrs. Brennan and John Sullivan for the purpose of division among the congests of the Island; if he is aware that it is stated that Mrs. Brennan and John Sullivan got permission from the Land Commission to sell, and, if so, if he will state the reason why.

The question of the acquisition of the holding of Mrs. Brennan, in the townland of Kilbeg, comprising 122 acres, is under the consideration of the Land Commission. The Commissioners do not intend to acquire the holding of the representatives of the late Timothy O'Sullivan, in the townland of Laharan, comprising 47 acres. They gave them permission to sell their interest to another person, and they have done so.
