Vol. 13 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. GALWAY ROADS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether it is intended to repair the roads leading to the villages or townlands of Ballaghduff East and West, and Milltown, during the coming winter; whether it was not a condition of sale imposed on the Congested Districts Board at the time of sale of the estate that these roads were to be put in good repair immediately succeeding sale, and whether the terms that bound the Congested Districts Board then are not now binding on the Department of Lands and Agriculture, or alternatively on the Land Commission.

Mr. HOGAN

On the sale of the estate of A. J. Norris to the late Congested Districts Board no condition was imposed that the roads mentioned in the question would be repaired at any time.

Repairs, however, were carried out to these roads some years ago by that Board and the Commissioners have sanctioned further expenditure in carrying out repairs to certain roads on this estate as soon as practicable.
