asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he can state the total amount of Land Commission Annuities outstanding in each of the counties of Laoighis and Offaly, on September 30th, 1925, the periods for which same are due, and if he will advise the Solicitors' Department to give sympathetic consideration to the present depressed condition of the annuitants before pressing for recovery of same.

The amount of land purchase annuities collectable on 1st May and 1st June, 1925, are, respectively, £47,339 for County of Leix, and £42,448 for County of Offaly. The amount of arrears outstanding in these counties at 27th October last, was £14,061 and £6,252 respectively.
The Commissioners are under statutory obligation to collect instalments of land purchase annuities as they fall due.
