Vol. 13 No. 21

COMMITTEE ON FINANCE. - STREET TRADING BILL, 1925—FIRST STAGE

I ask leave to introduce: "A Bill entitled an Act to regulate street trading in the County Borough of Dublin and also in such other County Boroughs and Urban County Districts as may adopt the Act." I would undertake, if permission is given to have the Bill printed and circulated, to have it in the hands of Deputies at least a week before the resumption of the Dáil. Lest the title might arouse any fears, I may say it is not proposed to abolish street trading; it is proposed to regulate it.

What is meant by "Urban County Districts"? Does that mean ordinary Urban Districts like Wexford, Sligo and Clonmel?

I think that is what it means. It may be a mistyping for "Urban Council Districts."

I am satisfied if it means Urban Council Districts.

Leave given to introduce the Bill; Second Stage ordered for 19th January, 1926.
