Vol. 15 No. 19

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT—RATHCOOLE APPLICANT.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the grounds on which Mr. J. Coogan (Book No. Dublin 53425), of Rathcoole, has been refused unemployment benefit, and if he can state when the appeal lodged by this man will be heard.

On a claim made on the 19th October, 1925, by James Coogan of Rathcoole, County Dublin, he was paid benefit in respect of the 26th and 27th October.

As a result of certain inquiries made in connection with a subsequent claim it appeared that the claimant was employed on the days for which he had received benefit on his previous claim. Investigation of that claim disclosed certain facts which led to the disallowance of the benefit paid. The claimant has appealed against the decision disallowing the claim in question, and his appeal will come before the Court of Referees on Wednesday, the 26th instant, after which his second claim, with which it has not been possible to deal in the meantime, will be disposed of.
