Vol. 16 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - BOTANIC GARDENS, GLASNEVIN.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will consider the desirability of extending the hours during the summer months for the opening and closing of the Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, and if the regulations will be altered so that children in perambulators may be admitted.

Mr. HOGAN

The time during which the Botanic Gardens are open to the public in the summer months was increased in 1924 by one hour on week days and three hours on Sundays. After an examination of the attendances during the extended hours it is not considered that any useful purpose would be served by any further extension of the time.

I regret that I cannot see my way to alter the regulations so that children in perambulators may be admitted to the Gardens.
