Vol. 17 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - McGILL ESTATE, GLASSON.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state when the Land Commission proposes to take over the lands of Littleton (estate of Col. McGill Glasson, Athlone) for the relief of congestion; and if he is aware of the large number of uneconomic holders in the district who are anxious to have the lands mentioned divided amongst them.

Mr. HOGAN

The Land Commission, after inquiry and consideration, have decided to take no further action for the present with regard to the acquisition of the lands referred to.

Is the Minister aware that there are quite a lot of uneconomic holders in the district? In this matter the Minister is only playing with fire, for if the Land Commission does not take this land it will be taken some other way.
