Vol. 17 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - APPLICATION FOR DIVISION OF RANCH LAND.

EAMON O DUBHGHAILL

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he is aware that repeated applications have been sent to the Land Commission to have the 400 acres of ranch land (known as the Rahill Ranch, Rathvilly), owned by Mr. Balfe, inspected with a view to its acquisition for division amongst uneconomic holders and landless men, and whether, in view of the fact that the Land Commission have not dealt with the matter, the Minister will state what action he intends to take.

Mr. HOGAN

I have answered this question already, but will answer it again. The Land Commission have received applications regarding the lands of Rahill referred to. These lands comprise three holdings. The question of retaining the holding referred to is under consideration.
