asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state when it is proposed to establish a broadcasting station in Athlone, as mentioned by him in a recent statement; further, if he can say what will be the approximate cost and how many people will be employed in the proposed station; and further, if it is proposed to erect a new building or utilise an existing building, and if the latter, whether he will state what existing building he proposes to take over.

It is hoped eventually to establish a central high-power Broadcasting Station at Athlone, but the matter has not yet advanced beyond the preliminary stage. A full statement will be made to the Dáil as soon as the details have been settled.
Will the Minister say whether it is intended to erect this Broadcasting Station before the dissolution of the present Dáil?
They will want it for the election.
Will the Minister answer the latter part of the question— whether he intends to erect a new building or to utilise an existing building?
