In the rental schedules lodged by the owner of the estate of J.A. Lewis, County Galway, to enable the lands to be vested in the Land Commission under the Land Act, 1923, H.H. Lewis is returned as in occupation of three holdings in the townland of Ballygowan, one under a judicial rent, the other two under yearly tenancies.
