Vol. 21 No. 5

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - BALLYMORE-EUSTACE POSTAL DELIVERIES.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the late hour at which letters and papers are distributed in Ballymore-Eustace, County Kildare, and district, and whether he will inquire if an earlier delivery can be arranged.

Since the 3rd instant the train conveying the day mails for Ballymore-Eustace leaves Sallins one hour 40 minutes later than previously, with the result that there is a correspondingly later delivery of mails. The Department has no control over the train in question, but I am having inquiry made with a view to ascertaining whether any improvement in the postal service can be effected, and I shall communicate the result to the Deputy in due course.

Will the Minister consider whether the old system could not be reverted to of bringing the letters direct to Naas where they arrived at an early hour?

I will have inquiries made and I will communicate with the Deputy.
