Vol. 21 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - HEWSON ESTATE TENANTS (MEATH).

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether anything can be done to relieve the position of the tenants on the Hewson Estate, Anneville, County Meath; if he is aware that most of the rent in respect of compounded arrears of rent is still due, that some of the tenants are decreed, and others served with writs, and fuel is very scarce owing to the bog on that estate being flooded.

Proceedings for the sale of W.G.G. Hewson's estate, County Meath, are pending, but the estate has not yet been reached in its order of priority to be dealt with. Proceedings have not been taken by the Land Commission as regards compounded arrears of rent due by the tenants.
