Vol. 21 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - OLD AGE PENSION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state why the claim for the old age pension of William Murphy, Kingstown, Ahascragh, was refused.

It was determined that this claimant was not entitled to any pension, as it was not clear on the evidence submitted that he had attained the statutory age. No birth or baptismal certificate was submitted, and the claimant was merely recorded as of "full age" when married on 21st February, 1895. Two declarations were submitted from neighbours, which were not, however, considered sufficiently conclusive to justify the allowance of a pension.
