Vol. 22 No. 1

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - BALLINDING WEIGHBRIDGE.

asked the Minister for Fisheries if he is aware that the Irish Land Commission, owners of the Tolls and Customs of Ballindine, removed the iron crib from the weighbridge some four years ago, for the purpose of repairs; that the crib has not been replaced; that in consequence no livestock can be weighed on the bridge, and that no pig markets are held in Ballindine, and if he is aware that the merchants and traders of Ballindine made repeated representations to the Irish Land Commission for a new crib, and if he will now state what steps will be taken to have a crib placed on the weighbridge.

The iron crib on the weighbridge at Ballindine has not been removed by the Irish Land Commission. Although no sheep and very few cattle and pigs are reported as being offered for sale at the fairs the Land Commission have made arrangements for the necessary repairs to be effected.
