Vol. 22 No. 5

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DELAY IN VESTING HOLDINGS.

TOMAS MAC GIOLLA PHOIL

asked the Minister for Fisheries if he is aware that tenants on the Daly Estate, Furbough, which was taken over by the Congested Districts Board in 1906, have not yet had their holdings vested in them, and if he will state what reasons there are for this 22 years' delay; and whether he will now make arrangements to have the holdings vested in the tenants.

Mr. RODDY

The late Congested Districts Board's offer for the purchase of this estate was not accepted by the owner until 17th February, 1920, and the estate was vested in the Land Commission as successors to the Board on the 6th December, 1923. The resale of the holdings thereon to the tenants is being dealt with and purchase agreements will be issued for signature as early as practicable.
