Vol. 22 No. 9

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DONEGAL HOUSE SHORTAGE.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that there is great hardship in the district of Newtowncunningham, County Donegal, owing to the shortage of houses, as a result of which some people are compelled to live in cow-sheds, and whether he proposes to take any steps to relieve this congestion by having labourers' cottages erected.

The Housing conditions in Newtowncunningham have not been specially brought to my notice but inquiries will be made. The provision of labourers' cottages in this area is a matter in the first instance for the Donegal Board of Health and Public Assistance.
