Vol. 22 No. 9

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LEITRIM COMPENSATION AWARD

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state why a sum of £100 only was paid to Michael Flynn, of Gortnagullion, Kishcarrigan, P.O., County Leitrim, though he had been granted a decree for £196 by the late Judge Brown in 1922, consequent on a raid on his home in 1921 by the "Black and Tans," on which occasion he was beaten and robbed of £96—the amount awarded (£196) being later approved by the Commission set up to revise these claims, and if the Minister will see that the full award will now be paid.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a similar question by Deputy McKenna on the 25th January, 1927, in which the position was fully explained.
