Vol. 22 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - A SLIGO FARM.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether it is proposed to reinstate Mr. Peter Coen, Burton St., Sligo, on the farm from which his father was evicted in 1910 without adequate compensation.

The Commissioners have no power to dispossess the present owner of the farm at Cloverhill for the purpose of restoring it to Martin Coen or his son, Peter. It would appear that Martin Coen was not a tenant of the farm in question, but was owner in fee-simple under the Land Purchase Acts. Mr. Coen's case is not one coming under the provisions of the Evicted Tenants Act, but, nevertheless, the Commissioners have under consideration the question of providing an alternative holding for him.
