Vol. 23 No. 4

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - OLD AGE PENSION CLAIM (CO. KERRY).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether, in view of the fact that Patt O'Brien, The Cashen, Ballyduff, Kerry, an applicant for the old age pension, has found it impossible to obtain a certificate of age, and that two old age pensioners over 80 years have declared he is over 70 years, he will now grant him a pension.

An appeal was decided in this case on the 18th January, 1928. It was determined that the claimant was not entitled to any pension, as it was not clear on the evidence submitted that he had attained the statutory age. He was recorded in the Marriage Register as being 25 years of age when married on 2nd February, 1890. The declarations submitted from neighbours were not considered sufficiently conclusive to establish his claim. The case cannot now be re-opened.
