CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CATTLE AND DAIRY PRODUCE EXPORTS.

Mr. GORRY

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will state (a) the number and approximate value of live stock exported from Irish ports during the years 1926, 1927 and up to June 30th, 1928; (b) the amounts (in tons) and approximate value of butter exported during the same years, and (c) the number and approximate value of eggs and poultry exported during the years stated.

It would take some time to extract from the export returns for the Saorstát particulars of the traffic through ports as distinct from that over the land frontier and I am not in a position to give export figures for Ireland as a whole. It is presumed, however, that the Deputy's purpose will be met by a table giving for each of the periods mentioned in the question comparative figures of the total exports from the Saorstát, and I will circulate that table with the official report.

The following were the Exports of the under-mentioned commodities produced in Saorstát Eireann which were exported from the Saorstát during each of the years 1926 and 1927 and the 5 months period January to May, 1928. The final figures for June, 1928, are not yet available.
