Is the Minister in a position to state if the members of the Gárda who applied for permission to retire will be now permitted to retire?

That is a perfectly separate question from the question on the Order Paper.

Will the Minister state why these men were refused permission to retire?

If the Deputy puts down a question relative to any particular case, I will have the greatest pleasure in answering him.

The Minister stated there were twenty-four men who applied for permission to retire and were refused. Could the Minister not take all those cases and give the reason why they were refused?

The Deputy should put down a separate question on the matter.
