Vol. 29 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vacancies for Coppersmiths at Baldonnel.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that notices of vacancies for coppersmiths at the Baldonnel Acrodrome were recently posted at the Liverpool Employment Exchange; whether such notices were posted in the Saorstát Employment Exchanges, and if, having regard to the large number of unemployed tradesmen in Dublin, he will state the reasons that such applications were invited outside the Saorstát.

I am not aware that notices of vacancies for coppersmiths for the Baldonnel Aerodrome were posted at the Liverpool Employment Exchange. If such notices were posted, it was not at the request of my Department. Any vacancies notified to my Department are not circulated outside An Saorstát until all efforts to attract suitable applicants belonging to this country have failed.
