den Aire Oideachais an bhfuil riaghail i bhfeidhm ag "An Gúm" gan glacadh le haon láimhscríbhinn (adhbar leabhair) atá scríobhtha sa chló Ghaedhealach, nó gan aon leabhar a chló-bhualadh sa chló san; agus má tá riaghail den tsaghas san ann cé cheap an riaghail sin; agus muna bhfuil, an iomdha leabhar atá curtha amach acu sa chló Ghaedhealach.

There is no rule requiring that MSS. of textbooks, works of general literature, or Irish translations offered to the Department for publication must be in any particular form of script, nor is there any rule to the effect that such works as are accepted for publication must be printed in Roman type. Authors are, however, encouraged to agree to the publication of their books in the modern type, which is generally called Roman type, and in order to provide a supply of Irish school texts and general reading therein, a certain proportion of the published works must be issued in that type. This proportion in the present financial year is one book (in Roman type) out of three (published). When a translator is commissioned or employed by the Department to prepare an Irish translation of a book, the Department reserves the right of deciding the type in which the translated work is published, and all such translations will be printed in the modern (or Roman) type.

Of the 21 books already published by the Department, 16 are printed in the older type, described in the question as Irish type.
