Vol. 29 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Allegations Against Gárda Sergeant at Clashmore.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he will now state the result of the inquiry into the conduct of a sergeant of the Gárda Síochána on the night of February 28th, in the village of Clashmore, Co. Waterford, when he is alleged to have used insulting and abusive language towards Mr. Hugh McGrath, of Ballyheeny, Clashmore, and, further, whether in the interests of discipline he will insist on a public apology and withdrawal of certain statements made in court under privilege from the said sergeant referring to the character of Miss Torpey, of Clashmore.

The enquiry into the conduct of the sergeant referred to in the question has not yet been completed.
