Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Acquisition of Lands—Kildare.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will instruct the Land Commission to acquire the untenanted lands on the Aylmer Estate, containing 126a. 3r. 34p., valuation £116 10s. 0d., held by Mr. George M. Allen (resident in London), in the townland of Dunmurrayhill, electoral division of Donadea, Co. Kildare, for the relief of congestion in the neighbourhood.

The Land Commission do not propose to take any action at present in regard to the acquisition of the lands of Dunmurraghill, to which the Deputy refers. They are subject to a Land Purchase Annuity.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will instruct the Land Commission to acquire the lands on the Fraser Estate, containing 96a. 2r. 30p., valuation £54, held by Mr. Patrick Higgins, in the townland of Lughill, electoral division of Ballybracken, County Kildare, for the relief of the acute congestion in the neighbourhood.

The lands of Lughill, referred to by the Deputy, comprise the holding of Mr. Patrick Higgins, on the Fraser Estate, which is the subject of proceedings under the Land Act, 1923. When this Estate is being dealt with the question of retaining and resuming the holding will be fully considered.
