Vol. 37 No. 17

Written Answers. - Dáil Eireann Loan, 1919-1920. Limerick Subscription.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state if he has placed on the primary register the name of Mrs. Patrick Connolly, Ballyferode, Kilfinane, County Limerick, whose husband, now deceased, subscribed £10 to Dáil Eireann Internal Loan (1919-1920).

The name of Mrs. Patrick Connolly, Ballyferode, Kilfinane, Co. Limerick, has not been entered in the register of subscribers to the Dáil Eireann (Internal) Loan, 1919-1920, in respect of a subscription of £10 made to the Loan by her late husband.

Applications which have been received in my Department for repayment in respect of this subscription do not state the relationship of the applicants to the deceased subscriber. Further, requests made by my Department to the applicants to furnish a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration have not been answered in a satisfactory manner. Further inquiries are being made in the matter.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state if Mr. Maurice McNamara, Main Street, Doon, County Limerick, who subscribed the sum of £10 in favour of Thomas Doyle, and £10 in favour of Michael Gleeson, to Dáil Eireann Internal Loan (1919-1920) has been paid.

Authority was given to the Accountant, Department of Posts and Telegraphs, on the 28th June, 1929, for the issue to Mr. Maurice McNamara, of Main Street, Doon, Co. Limerick, through his solicitor, of Savings Certificates in respect of two sums of £10 subscribed by him in the names of Messrs. Thomas Doyle and Michael Gleeson, respectively, both of Kyle, Cappamore, Co. Limerick.

I am informed that the Certificates were duly issued and were cashed on the 9th August, 1929.
