Vol. 39 No. 4

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ashbourne Land Act.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state does he propose taking advantage of the decadal reduction provided for in the Ashbourne Land Act, and, if so, will he state the conditions.

It is not clear to what the Deputy refers. There is no provision in the "Ashbourne Act" (the Land Purchase Act of 1885) for decadal reductions.

The system of decadal reductions was introduced in the Land Law (Ireland) Act, 1896, and applied to advances made under that Act and preceding Acts.

It does not apply to advances made under subsequent Acts.
