Vol. 39 No. 4

Written Answers. - Resumption of Mayo Land.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state why the addition of land amounting to 9 acres, portion of the lands at Seefin, Claremorris (G. A. Vesey Estate, C.D.B. 143, Co. Mayo) given to the late Michael Grady, Polbaun, Annefield, Hollymount, Co. Mayo, by the C.D.B. in 1921, has now been taken back by the Land Commission from his representatives, and will he say if compensation has been paid for the original deposit made when Grady entered into occupation, or for the labour expended by him in fencing and improving his land.

The Land Commission, having ascertained on inquiry that the late Michael Grady had paid a fine to the Congested Districts Board on the occasion of the grazing letting being made to him of the lands of Seefin, are making arrangements to give his representative possession of the lands in question.
