Vol. 39 No. 12

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Written Answers. - Flooding on Blake Estate (Co. Mayo).

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware that considerable damage is caused to the holdings of Peter Conway and four other tenants on the Blake Estate, Kilnock, Claremorris, through flooding as a result of drainage operations carried out by the Irish Land Commission on the Browne Estate, Ballybane, Claremorris; and if he will take steps to have the drain at Kilnock deepened and widened for about 500 yards to abate the flooding.

The general inclement weather prevented the completion of the drainage work which the Land Commission have in hands in this locality, but arrangements have been made to have the unfinished work continued at the earliest possible moment.
