Vol. 39 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - The Recent Wolfe Tone Celebrations.

asked the Minister for Justice whether it is intended to make any payment by way of compensation or damages to the Great Southern Railway Company and to other persons damnified by reason of the cancellation of the train service to Sallins on Sunday, the 21st June, arranged for the Wolfe Tone celebration; and, if so, will he state the enactment by virtue of which it is intended to pay.

I am not aware there is any good ground for the payment of compensation in this matter.

Would the Minister answer the second part of the question?

How does it arise?

Arising out of the question whether if a claim were established for the payment of compensation on what authority he would make the payment?

When the Deputy ceases to be hypothetical I will answer his question.
