asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he has received a resolution from the Sligo Corporation with reference to the exclusion of a number of smallholders within the urban area from the benefits of the £750,000 grant in relief of rates; whether the request of the Corporation has been considered; and whether the Government propose to amend the terms of the grant so as to enable the small farmers in question to share in the benefits of the grant.

The reply to the first part of the Deputy's question is in the affirmative. It is not proposed that the grant should be made applicable to land in respect of which agricultural grant is not already payable.
