Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electricity Supply Board.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce to state the names of the persons appointed by the Executive Council from time to time to be members of the Electricity Supply Board since its establishment under the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927; the respective dates of their appointment to the Board; the dates of their retirement; their positions on the Board; the positions held by them prior to their appointment to the Board; the remuneration prescribed for each of them by the Executive Council; the additional allowances similarly prescribed; whether such remuneration and allowances were paid out of the funds of the Board, or out of the Central Fund; and whether any specific duties were allocated to those officers of the Department of Finance or of other Departments under Ministerial control, who were appointed to the Board; and, if so, to state specifically what such duties were.

This information requires to be stated in tabular form, and I will circulate it with the Official Report.

Additional allowances were prescribed in respect of subsistence at the rates applicable to Civil Servants of the first grade and in respect of travelling at the rates applicable to such Civil Servants, and, subsequently, according to the actual expenses reasonably and necessarily incurred.

The prescribed remuneration and allowances were payable wholly out of the funds of the Board. No specific duties were allocated to any member of the Board.
