Vol. 39 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electricity Supply Board—Liaison Officer's Report.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the period during which Mr. Fay acted as Liaison Officer between the Electricity Supply Board and the Minister prior to his appointment to the Board; and further, if he will state the nature of the report of Mr. Fay referring to the financial possibilities of the scheme as a whole.

The period was from July, 1929. I am unable to identify the report referred to in the last part of the question.

Did the Minister not get any report?

I got a lot of statements—I do not know whether they could be called reports—mainly to the effect that there was no information forthcoming from the Board.

Did the Minister not get any statement indicating, in the estimation of Mr. Fay, the financial position of the scheme?

No. Mr. Fay said that he could not get any information. That was the main result of his period on the Board.
