Vol. 39 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kenmare Suspension Bridge.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that the suspension bridge crossing the Kenmare river has been definitely closed to traffic within the past nine months, resulting in serious dislocation of traffic, inconvenience to farmers and merchants, and loss of trade to Kenmare town; and if he will now state when he intends constructing the new bridge.

The bridge has been closed since the 1st January, 1931. Some inconvenience must inevitably arise from the closing of an important bridge of this kind. I am informed there is no avoidable delay on the part of the local authority in dealing with the matter.
