Vol. 40 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Application under Trades Loans (Guarantee) Acts.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce to state if he had received from Mr. Peter MeLuskey an application under the Trades Loans (Guarantee) Acts, 1924 to 1931, for a guarantee as to the repayment of principal and interest on a loan of £15,000 for the purpose of providing the plant and equipment required to revive the Glass Bottle Making Industry at Ringsend, Dublin; if so, is it correct to state that the Advisory Committee, to which the application under the Act was referred, reported in favour thereof; if the Committee thus reported, will he state the grounds upon which he rejected the application.

I have received no application in respect of a Bottle Making Industry to be revived at Ringsend. An application in respect of a loan of the sum mentioned in the question for the purpose of establishing a factory elsewhere has not been reported on favourably by the Advisory Committee.

Would the Minister be good enough to say where it was proposed to establish the factory. Was it in the city of Dublin, or in that neighbourhood?

Near Annesley Bridge.
