Vol. 40 No. 20

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take the business as on the Order Paper, but the Road Transport Bill, 1931, will not be taken to-day.

When will that be circulated to the Deputies?

It will be circulated at the week-end.

I have suggested already to the Minister that the best scheme, as far as the Second Stage is concerned, would be— provided, of course, that both Bills were in the hands of Deputies—that the Second Stage of one of them should be moved and a debate on that should be allowed which would cover both Bills. On that question being disposed of, the other question could be moved and disposed of without debate, and then the Bills in Committee would take their separate courses. But on the Second Reading it would be impossible to prevent a discussion on both Bills together.

And one debate on both, not two debates.

Ordered: That both be taken on Wednesday, 9th December.
