asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce to state the number of persons (men, boys, women and girls) insured under the Unemployment Insurance Acts in each Employment Exchange area in each industrial group at the date of the last available records; also a return showing the number of persons, men and women, boys and girls, in each Employment Exchange area in each industrial group on the following dates, or nearest date for which records are available—viz., the 1st day of January, April, October, 1931; the first day of January and April, 1932.

The information desired is being prepared, but its completion will necessarily take some time. The particulars will be more voluminous than could readily be printed in the Official Report, and I would propose, therefore, to furnish copies in stencilled form which would be available to any interested Deputies.
