Vol. 47 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Lambert Estate, Claremorris.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware that acute congestion exists in the parishes of Crossboyne and Claremorris, and if he will state what steps, if any, are being taken by the Irish Land Commission to acquire the Lambert demesne land, which have been let in grazing for the past 20 years.

The Land Commission some years ago investigated the position of the Lambert demesne to which the Deputy refers and decided to take no action for the present in the case. Further investigation will, however, be made into the present circumstances of the lands.

Is the Minister aware that the arrangements for the sale of that estate are taking place at present?

Further investigations will be made into the matter.
