Vol. 47 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pension Claims (Claremorris).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that Martin Mooney and Mrs. Mooney, of Luga-temple, Claremorris, were granted old age pensions at the rate of 10/- each per week by the Claremorris succommittee last November; that appeals were then lodged by the pensions officer against the sub-committee's decision; that the said appeals are still pending, and if he will state the cause of delay in deciding such appeals.

There is very considerable pressure of work in dealing with a large number of appeals. It has been necessary to supplement the staff and every effort is being made to secure the earliest decisions possible.
