Vol. 48 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Claremorris Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will now state what steps, if any, are being taken by the Irish Land Commission to acquire for the relief of congestion the lands known as Brookhill Demesne, Lambert Estate, Claremorris; whether he is aware that the owners have recently disposed of part of the lands and if he will state if the Irish Land Commission have given permission to the owners to subdivide the lands.

The Land Commission have recently received an inspector's report on the present conditions of the Brookhill Demesne on the Lambert Estate, from which it appears that the owner has sold portion of the lands in lots to five purchasers, and the question of the acquisition of any part of the lands is at present under consideration.
