Vol. 49 No. 3

Supplementary and Additional Estimates. - Vote No. 72—Industrial Credit.

I move:

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £15,000 chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfaidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31adh Mhárta, 1934, mar roimh-íoc chun Cuideachtan Cáirde Tionnscail do bhunú.

That a sum not exceeding £15,000 be granted to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending 31st March, 1934, as an advance for the establishment of an Industrial Credit Company.

As Deputies are aware, there is a Bill before the Dáil authorising the Minister for Finance to take steps to form and register an Industrial Credit Company. That Bill empowers the Minister to make an advance to the company to meet preliminary expenses. It is proposed to ask the Dáil to authorise the Minister to make an advance up to £15,000 for that purpose. Of the £15,000, £12,500 will immediately revert to the State in the form of stamp duties, the other £2,500 will be devoted to flotation expenses and the other expenses incidental to the formation and registration of the company, the whole amount of £15,000 being repayable with interest by the company. It is not expected that this Vote will impose any charge upon the Exchequer.
