Vol. 49 No. 3

Supplementary and Additional Estimates. - Business of Dáil.

Is No. 17 on the Order Paper being taken?

I understood that the Government were not going beyond No. 16 to-day. Are there some other matters to be taken?

It is suggested that the Second Stage of No. 17 be taken.

The order of business contemplated was announced only up to No. 16. I understand, however, that some agreement has been made to take No. 17 in addition—that is the Second Stage of it.

And to adjourn after that?

Nos. 17 and 18, I am informed.

Will the Government make up their mind?

We have been pleasantly surprised with the speed with which the business has been dealt with. We laid down a programme which we thought would occupy the day.

Does the Minister realise that it was not necessary to sit here all night on Friday and most of the day on Saturday?

We did not anticipate your attitude to-day.

At that time the Opposition Benches were not so blue.

Let us confine ourselves to bouquets.

Will the House adjourn after we have dealt with No. 17 or not?

And No. 18.

When we dispose of No. 18 will we be supposed to go further?

Not unless Deputies wish.

It was arranged earlier, as I understand, that the House should adjourn when we had dealt with No. 17.

No. 18 was suggested afterwards.

I understood that No. 17 was suggested earlier. Now, when No. 18 has been satisfactorily dealt with, as we hope it will be within a reasonable time, will something else be thrust upon us?

Not unless the House unanimously so desires.

I can assure you that, if I am here, it will not be unanimous.

Evidently, I have created a certain amount of discord.
