Musk Rats Bill, 1933—From the Seanad.
The Dáil went into Committee to consider Seanad amendments to the Musk Rates Bill.
The following amendments inserted in the Seanad were agreed to:—
1. Section 11. Before the word "The" in line 31 the words "Subject to the provisions of this section" inserted.
2. Section 11. A new sub-section added at the end of the section as follows:—
(2) The Minister shall not grant an application for a musk rat licence unless he is satisfied that such licence is required to enable musk rats to be kept for the purposes of biological or scientific research.
3. Section 14. A new sub-section inserted at the beginning of the section as follows:—
(1) Whenever the Minister grants a musk rat licence he shall attach to such licence a condition that musk rats shall be kept by the holder of such licence for the purposes of biological or scientific research and for no other purpose.
