Vol. 49 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Deductions From Local Taxation Grants.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state for each county council area the amounts deducted from Local Taxation Grants in respect of deficiencies in the Land Purchase Fund and the Land Bond Fund, which were outstanding on the 31st March, 1930, and the further amounts of any deficiencies that accrued due during the years ended on the 31st March, 1931, and the 31st March, 1932, and which are outstanding now, and, further, whether any of the amount outstanding on the 31st March, 1930, was since collected, and, if so, what amount.

As the answer to the Deputy's question is necessarily lengthy I will have it circulated with the Official Report.

The following is the reply:—

It would not be possible without resorting to a detailed and very laborious examination of the Land Commission's Collection Accounts to state what amount of the deficiencies at the several dates mentioned has since been collected.

The reply has been framed on the assumption that the Deputy intended to refer to the Purchase Annuities Fund and not the Land Purchase Fund.
