Vol. 49 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Display at Paris Fair.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is in a position now to give the names of those engaged by the Commercial Attaché in Paris in connection with the recent Paris Fair.

I understand that the Commercial Attaché in Paris employed a Mr. Denis Devlin and a Mr. Owen Sheehy-Skeffington to discharge certain work in connection with the display of Irish goods at the recent Paris Fair.

May I ask if the reluctance to give one of these names earlier was due to the fact that the person concerned is an avowed Communist?

Not that I am aware of.

You do not know much about it.

It is the Deputy's habit to make allegations here that he would be afraid to make outside.

The person referred to would not call that an allegation. He is very glad to say it himself.

The Deputy is afraid to say it outside.
