The following local authorities had schemes in operation for the provision of turf for necessitous households during the year ended the 31st March, 1934:—
The Corporations of Cork, Dublin, Limerick and Waterford; the Corporations of Clonmel, Drogheda, Dun Laoghaire and Wexford; and the Urban District Councils of Athlone, Bray, Carlow, Cobh, Dundalk, Galway and Tralee. Particulars of the amounts expended by these local authorities are not yet available.
