Vol. 52 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Murders.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether any children under ten years of age have been approached by the police and questioned with a view to ascertaining whether they had any information which might lead to the apprehension or to tracing the identity of the murderers of (1) Hugh O'Reilly, of Innishannon, County Cork, or (2) Charles Daly, of Dunmanway, County Cork.

I am not prepared to give any particulars likely to identify the persons who have been approached by the police for information as regards these matters. The Deputy may take it that no possible line of inquiry has been neglected.

Are we to understand from the Minister's reply that the Ministry are less anxious to follow up the murderers of men like O'Reilly and Daly than to supervise the movements of Deputies of this House?

That is not so.
